Egg jellies
These egg molds took a super long time to reach my hands. When it finally did, I can't wait to get started. Many ideas ran thru' my mind. I believe gelatine was the recommended ingredient for these molds, as it was manufactured by Krafts and they also have a range of jellies. Anyway, I decided to use Konniyaku jelly instead. Texture is much similar to gelatine (jelly-o). So I think it shdn't go wrong.
The results were very pleasing and good! I love the colours and the stripey look of the eggs.... but it was a rather tedious process, so I guess lazy me won't be trying this stripey look anytime soon. :P

I remember when I was a teen, I made similar kind of egg jelly with empty egg shells (drain the raw eggs by cracking a small hole on the top)...then washed, dried and fillede it with jelly which my mum made, they call it (菜燕). When u are ready to eat it, u got to crack the shells, just like eating a hard-boil egg. Now they have come up with a mould, how nice!!

Hi it's me again, wanting to ask you about the choc swirl bread. Hope you don't mind. Can you remember if your dough is sticky? Mine is so sticky I could not roll it at all and it sticks to everything that touches it.
By Anonymous, at 12:55 PM, October 08, 2007
Hi Wendy,
It's ok to ask, i'll try my best to help.
for the dough, it wasn't too sticky. some flour would do the trick. just dun put too much flour, but just enuf to stop it from sticking too much. after I'd put in the fridge and then took it out for folding, it wasn't not sticky anymore.
By Baking Fiend, at 5:03 PM, October 08, 2007
Thank you so much for replying. I've tried twice and both times, the dough is sticky even after taking out from the fridge and I end up spending much time fighting with the dough. haha....guess I'll try again

hi baking fiend, those egg jellies are really beautiful. Must be tedious for u. I've a mould something like that. I think I'll try it later.
By Anonymous, at 2:52 PM, October 11, 2007
hi delia,
it was tedious in the sense that i've to wait for each layer to set b4 adding the next. and wif all that waiting, some of the jellies had set in the containers! so i had to boil it for use again... all these waiting and reboiling... take so long! LOL... maybe i'm just lazy? it's too much work for me!
